The Capitol Art Collection, directed by the Capitol Art Foundation, a 501(c)(3) art organization, continues to create a permanent exhibition of contemporary art by artists of New Mexico. It is the only permanent collection of contemporary art free and open to the public that provides a gamut of art mediums and styles ranging from abstract expressionism to traditional santos, from furniture to fiber, from photography to found objects.

The Capitol Art Collection is the best one stop art spot for those who want a sampling of contemporary art in New Mexico, but don’t have time to visit all the galleries and museums. The Capitol Art Collection provides ongoing exhibition with new works regularly. It is available for viewing Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
